Ninja Turtle slipper socks free pattern

My kid wanted slipper socks (okay, so I'm just translating it from Dutch, I don't know how English speaking people call them..), and mommy diggs a challenge so my brains had to work in a creative way. And I have to say, the result is stunning ;)

Ninja Turtle sloffen

I made these slippers for a kid with shoe size european size 30 (12 in US, 11 in UK), the pattern is for that size. When you want to make a larger or smaller size you'll have to make the start chain longer or shorter. But make sure you measure the right size (see image 1)

A: By putting your hook through the front loops of the first two stitches and then crochet like normal.

Pattern Ninja Turtle slipper socks

Follow this diagram for the sole.

Patroon zool
Sole pattern

If you follow the diagram start at round 4.

With green:
Ch 16 + 3 to turn (this one count as first-child double crochet) placeholder stitch marker in the 3th chain from hook.

Round 1: 14 dc, 4 dc in last st, do not turn but crochet on the other side of the chain.
14 dc and in the chain with the stitch marker 4 dc, join with slst.
Round 2: ch 3, 13 dc, 2 dc in next 6 st, 13 dc, 2 dc in next 5 st and 1 dc in the last st before the ch 3, join with slst.
Round 3: ch 3, 12 dc, *2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st* repeat in total of 6 timer,  2 dc in next st, 12 dc,  *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in the next st* repeat in total of 6 times, 1 dc in the st before the ch 3, join with slst.

!.Now always start in the same st as the ch 3 and join in the first dc, not in the ch 3.!

Round 4: (in back loop only)
Ch 2 (does not count as first dc), dc around (61 st), join with slst.
Round 5: (from now in both loops)
Ch 2, 8 dc, *dcr 2 dc, 1 dc* repeat in total of 11 times, dcr 2 dc, dc to end, join with slst.
Round 6: ch 2, 6 dc, *dcr 2 dc* repeat in total of 13 times, dcr 2 dc, dc to end, joint with slst.
Round 7: ch 2,  4 dc, *dcr 2 dc* repeat it total of 9 times, dc to end, join with slst. Bind off.

With red, orange, purple or blue:
Row 1: Ch 10 and join on the lef slipper direct above the bind off in the back loop. For the right slipper count 13 st from the bind off across the back of the slipper and join in the back loop. Sc crochet across and st the last st in the front loop 1 sc, ch 10.

Row 2: ch 2, turn, dc in every st.
Row 3 + 4: Repeat Row 2, at the last row bind off en weave in threads.

Now you'll have 2 flaps on the sides of the slippers, put both flaps on each other in a cross and wind a piece of yarn in the same color around the flaps.

Eyes

Make 2

With white
Ch 2 lossen
6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (do not turn crochet in first sc)
3 sc in first st, 2 sc in 2nd st, 1 sc in 3th st, repeat again.
1 sc, 2 sc in next 3 st, 3 sc, 2 sc in next 3 st, 2 sc. Bind off.

With black
6 hdc in magic ring.

Now place every piece in the right place and voila Ninja Turtle slipper socks!

The slipper looks like this when it's not on the feet, but on the feet it forms in place!

Round 16: dc in each st around, ch 2, turn
Round 17: hdc in next 34 st, ch 2, turn
Round 18: single crochet in next 34 st, bind off.

Free pattern Anna from Arendelle hat

Alright, it's almost Christmas and I understand you want to give a special present to your Princess! So here's a free Anna from Arendelle hat pattern, from me to you!

Materials

  • Yarn in bordeaux pink (well I don't know the name of this color), royal blue, orange and furry white yarn
  • Hook 5mm
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge
4 x 4 inch = 12 double crochet x 8 rows

Hat
First before you begin you have to measure the hat (see drawing). A toddler/pre schooler needs ch 64. In Dutch we say measure is knowing. This pattern is preschooler size.

Measure size head from ear to ear

Crochet double crochets across en repeat until you have a size that fits from the back of the head to the hairline on the forehead (see drawing).

Now you have to fold the piece, ch 1 en from the middle to the end single crochet across (32 st for a toddler /preschooler).
If you got it right you crochet the long sides together.

Now, on the other long side you'll have to join the blue yarn and double crochet across (64 st).
Ch 1 and single crochet on the bottom of the hat.
Ch 1, turn, *5 double crochet in the 2nd stitch from hook, skip 2 stitches, slip stitch in the next*, repeat to the end.
When you got it right the bottom of the hat has now a bow edge. Do not bind of but chain 40 and bind off.

On the other side of the edge join and chain 40 and bind off.

On the side of the blue double crochet skip 10 stitches and double crochet with the white furry yarn until you have 10 blue double crochet legt, bind off.

With the orange yarn chain 26 + 2.
Turn en from 2nd ch from hook double crochet across (26 st), repeat 3 times.
For the last row: 4 slip stitches, 4 single crochet, 3 half double crochet, 4 double crochet, 3 half double crochet, 4 single crochet, 4 slip stitches (26 st), bind off.

Again with orange: chain 10 + 2. Turn, double crochet across (10 st), repeat one more time.
The last row: 2 slip stitches, 2 single crochet, 2 half double crochet, 2 single crochet, 2 slip stitches (10 st), bind off.

Now put the orange pieces in place en attach with the right color on the hat (not orange). Now you'll have to attach the two pieces together so the bangs look like thee have a split.

Goede kant

Wrong side/the inside

Cut 45 Orange straps and 9 white straps of 16 inches. Orginize them in groups of 9.
Put your hook through a stitch on the inside of the right side of the hat en pull one group of 9 through the stitch, make a loop an put the ends of the string through the loop and pull. Repeat this two more times with an Orange and white group in the next stitches.
Now go to the left side and do the same with the groups of orange straps. See pictures below for some extra info.

And there it is, a super cool en original present for under the tree!
